Scotland invented the game of golf, and there is hardly a village here that doesn’t have its own golf course. Many are set in spectacular countryside. Non-members are welcome. Practice facilities, and lessons or accompanied rounds with golf professionals, are available at some clubs. This is the perfect place for a golf holiday.
If you would like your English homestay in Scotland to focus on golf, we are very happy to facilitate that. This can include driving you to and from different golf courses, and helping you to make bookings, although it is advisable to book rounds before the start of your English homestay if possible, particularly at the best known clubs, St Andrews and Gleneagles, and during the summer months. This can usually be done over the internet – see details below.
A one day trip to St Andrews, the birthplace of golf, is included. Visit the British Golf Museum, the Swilcan Bridge, the beaches and harbour, and the attractive town centre with the ancient St Andrews University. If you would like to play a round of golf, please book it early, as St Andrews is extremely popular.
An English homestay golf holiday is of course ideal for 2 golf partners who book together.
Your English homestay golf holiday can be arranged with or without English language lessons, as you prefer. Please just contact us to discuss your preferred holiday, and we will be happy to arrange it for you. The cost will depend on what you want to do. You will need to book rounds of golf, lessons etc. independently, although we are happy to assist you with that, as needed. It is advisable to bring your own golf equipment with you, although many clubs do hire out equipment.
A golf holiday can include other trips and activities in central Scotland too
